These instructions pertain to email being hosting on an Anthian server using IMAP. If you have your own email server, these instructions do not apply. If you are not sure, please raise a query by writing to support@anthian.co.uk. 


NOTE AS WELL THAT THESE INSTRUCTIONS PERTAIN TO OUR MAIN SERVERS. IF YOU ARE USING A HEART INTERNET SERVER THROUGH US, THESE INSTRUCTIONS DO NOT APPLY. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE, PLEASE ASK US BY CLICKING HERE


The screenshots below are from an iPhone, but they look similar to the iPad screens. 


Before you start, you will need:

  • Your email address 
  • Your user name, in the form of name@company e.g. fred@acmeltd or joe@companymail. Note that this is NOT the same as the email address!
  • Your password
These will have been given to you by one of our team.

You will also need to make sure that your device has a good internet connection.


1. Go to Settings


2. Go to  Mail. If you haven't updated your phone to iOS 10, it's Mail, Contacts, Calendars


3. You'll see a list of accounts. At the bottom of this list, you'll see Add Account. Tap this.


4. Tap on Other
















5. Tap Add Mail Account


6. Fill in your details on the New Account screen. You should generally use your full name. Use the email address you've been given.


7. Tap Next


8. You'll get a screen like this 

9. Under Incoming mail server fill in your details as follows:

Host name should be always mail.anthiancomputer.net

User name is your user name that you've been given by one of us

Password is as you've been given by us but it should be already filled in


10. As you scroll further down you'll see another heading Outgoing mail server -  please fill this in as follows

Host name should be always smtp.anthiancomputer.net

User name is your user name that you've been given by one of us

Password is as you've been given by us 



11. The screen should look something like this

 
12. Tap Next at the top
13. You will get a screen like this

 telling you that it cannot connect using SSL. Tap Yes
14. The screen will say verifiying at the top for possibly a few minutes. You may get the message in step 13 again, if you do, tap Yes.
15. You'll get a message that it cannot verify the server identity. Tap Continue
16. Finally, you'll get a screen like this: 

17. Tap Save 
18 Tap < Add Account at the top left

Now the email should have been added to your inboxes if you go to the Mail app on your iPhone or iPad.
