These instructions are for clients where we have set up a VPN for them to connect to the office.  We will have sent you these instructions only if we have set up remote access to your office network via a Draytek router in the office and Draytek SmartVPN software. 


Step 1 - Make sure the VPN app is running

First, you need to make sure the app is actually running.  Look on the taskbar on the right. 

If this grey icon is showing, the app is running.  

If there is no icon like that, try clicking the ^ and seeing if it's there.  If it isn't, you need to manually start it by clicking on the start button and searching for SmartVPN




Step 2 - Connecting to your office

Right-click on the Smart VPN icon on the bottom right of your screen and choose the 'connect' option:


You should then get a screen like this, once it's connected after a few seconds:

Notice that the grey icon has turned green (shown circled in red above).



Now you should be able to print to your office printers as if you were in the office.




Step 3 - Disconnecting 

When you've finished, simply right-click on the green icon at the bottom right and choose disconnect, shown below:
