Anthian provides a remote working facility that has several advantages over other commercial offerings:

  • It's resilient, carries on working after a reboot
  • Easy to use
  • Allows for local printing (so if you're at home controlling your office PC and need to print, you can direct the office computer to print on your local printer at home)
  • Secure: it only allows access to your own PC, using your own password, with an app tailored for you.
  • Billed monthly (currently free of charge until at least July 2020)


How to start

1. Click on your SimpleHelp Remote Work icon


 

2. Enter your computer user name and password and click Login - for assistance, please raise a support ticket

3. You should now be connected to your office computer. You should maximise the window for ease of use.  

4. If you don't see your regular desktop, please click the mouse and proceed to log in to your computer as normal.


You'll now be connected to your computer.  


General usage


While using the remote system, you'll see some controls at the top of the screen




When you have finished, just click the cross at the top right, or use the * menu on the top right and click 'Terminate' - see below


When you quit, the remote computer will automatically lock itself, so you don't have to do that.



Printing


If you want to print on your local printer at home, when you're in a remote session, choose the 'SImpleHelp Remote Printer' as shown below


You'll get a small window for you to choose the printer to use.  Choose your printer and click on Print.
